In 1980 Austin J. de Bourg opened the doors of the first Trinidad Christian Center (TCC) in Diego Martin, Trinidad & Tobago West Indies. With just seven people in attendance he started his ministry with a sign posted to the front, “Freely you have received, freely give”. Every sick person who came was healed and each demon possessed person received deliverance. Also, most of the unsaved people who came to the Center accepted Jesus Christ. This tangible evidence of the Holy Spirit’s working started a revival which lasted for five years.

Throughout the years, Trinidad Christian Center was established as a place of refuge in the nation of Trinidad and Tobago. Countless lives have been saved, many have been miraculously healed and numerous Christian leaders were raised up as a result of the depth of revelation imparted from the word of God and the level of commitment exemplified by Apostle de Bourg to the building of God’s Kingdom.

The foundation of this great ministry was built on a strong commitment to prayer. Apostle de Bourg taught the believers on the importance of prayer by establishing ‘prayer’ as the most important service in the Center. The great Apostle Paul stated in Ephesians 6:18/19, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel.”

Prayer was and continues to be the driving and powerful force behind the countless victories accredited to Apostle Austin J. de Bourg and Trinidad Christian Center.

To date, after 25 years, Trinidad Christian Center’s growth cannot be adequately calculated because its impact reaches beyond the shores of the islands and extends to other nations
